| Farmer’s Market and Foodie Tour
You will begin your day at one of San Diego’s premier Farmer’s Market! Live music, local artisan, crafts and open air farmer’s market are some of the highlights. Learn all about farm-to-table cuisine and the slow food movement. See what is currently in season and why locally grown produce is in such high demand. Together with Chef Jodi you will select wonderful produce to create a magnificent meal together.
Farmer’s Market Cooking Class – Saturday late afternoon
Here you will take the wonderful bounty you acquired at the Farmer’s market and learn how to create an epicurean feast for dinner. Chef Jodi’s indoor and outdoor kitchen, set atop beautiful Mt. Soledad with fabulous panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, will provide you with a setting like no other! Learn how to create a masterpiece from ingredients you have on hand. You will then dine alfresco on the beautiful food you prepared. |
Hands on Cooking Class with Chef Jodi
You will learn how to prepare a six-course, California Cuisine meal, designed specifically for your palate. Starting with olive oil and a gourmet salt tasting you will experience the key ingredients used throughout your cooking class. Visit Chef Jodi’s vegetable garden where you will pick the available harvest-ready produce and learn all about the fresh herbs she uses. Chef Jodi will also teach a few knife skills that will make your prep work at home so much easier. When you’re cooking is done you will dine on the exquisite meal you learned to prepare, complete with Californian wines that are paired with the meal.
